The Excitement of Life

The most exciting part of life is that it goes on. That you have to enjoy while you are still fighting with the daily routine. That it is possible to be alive and happy in the world where everything may seem to be wrong. This is the beauty of it all.

Happy Teacher's Day

Today is Teachers' day. Teachers have a big role to play in every human being's life. However, at times we limit the concept of teachers to only the teachers who teach us in schools. Life is a great teacher in itself.

So, today is also Life's Day. We have to decide the life to the fullest and be happy.

Life gives us opportunities to help others and be happy. We have to seize them and also continuously strive to keep away from activities that can hurt anyone.

I got one such opportunity today. When I was going to the gurudwara, an old disabled man was trying to mend the chain of his tricycle. Someone had driven rashly and caused him to put sudden brakes. The chain had therefore come out of the teeth of the gear. He was having lots of trouble in getting the thing right and therefore, I stopped for a minute and helped him out.

I hope he felt better. I definitely felt good. I had a happy Life's Day...

happy teachers' day to you too :-)

The big spider - No, a little bat baby

As we closed our CSH meeting today (CSH stands for Community Service Hour, a meeting of the non-profit organization that I volunteer with - AID Delhi) and moved out of Meera Aunty's house, I noticed a really big spider... Walking down towards us...

It was enchanting... I had never seen this big a spider - must be 2 inches in diameter - on the Delhi streets... At once I related it with the creepy movie with "huge" spiders (I don't even remember the name :-)...)

Both Selva and I got curious and wanted to see it closer. So, we approached it... At once we realized that it wasn't a spider but a little baby bat. And the mother bat was flying around frentically worried about the little baby.

I am not very comfortable with bats - and therefore did not attempt to pick it up. And even if I had picked it up - where would I keep it? Moreover, the mother bat would have fought with me had I tried to touch around with the little baby... So, I just saw to it that it crossed the road - so that it wouldn't be crushed by any vehicle - and moved on... And then, as they say, jaako raakhe saayiyaan maar sake na koi - he must have played on :-)...
