The big spider - No, a little bat baby
As we closed our CSH meeting today (CSH stands for Community Service Hour, a meeting of the non-profit organization that I volunteer with - AID Delhi) and moved out of Meera Aunty's house, I noticed a really big spider... Walking down towards us...
It was enchanting... I had never seen this big a spider - must be 2 inches in diameter - on the Delhi streets... At once I related it with the creepy movie with "huge" spiders (I don't even remember the name :-)...)
Both Selva and I got curious and wanted to see it closer. So, we approached it... At once we realized that it wasn't a spider but a little baby bat. And the mother bat was flying around frentically worried about the little baby.
I am not very comfortable with bats - and therefore did not attempt to pick it up. And even if I had picked it up - where would I keep it? Moreover, the mother bat would have fought with me had I tried to touch around with the little baby... So, I just saw to it that it crossed the road - so that it wouldn't be crushed by any vehicle - and moved on... And then, as they say, jaako raakhe saayiyaan maar sake na koi - he must have played on :-)...
